2 keys to strength training: dumbells and changing routines

3rd July 2007

Key to strength training: Do your sets with dumbells and you’ll be amazed how easy it is to use a straight bar with heavy weights in a few months. Using dumbells means using some stabilizing muscles that aren’t really used with straight bar exercises. That’s a big key to strength gains.

Key to strength training: Mix it up. For example, do flat bench or inclined/decline with the bells but mix it up. You never want to do the same exercises week in and week out. You need to change it up every couple of weeks or so. Doing the same thing over and over causes overtraining and often tendonitis (not to mention BOREDOM).
