Long healthspans mean happy lives

Interesting health articles

24th September 2006

I found a good collection of health articles that I wanted to share. The site covers numerous health topics, including a few of my favorites.

The first one I checked out was the tooth care section. Old people are always losing teeth, and I think that really impacts someone’s healthspan because it changes your eating habits. If you want a longer healthspan, you need to keep your teeth healthy. That’s not always easy to do.

Then I tried out the articles on goji juice and berries. I had never heard of goji before┬ábut it reminded me of Gac fruit from Vietnam which is another juice most Americans have never heard of. Gac has 10 times more beta-carotene than carrots and 70 times more lycopene than tomato. Plus the nutrients are more easily absorbed into the body. When the science has evaluated goji, I wonder what we’ll find?

Then it was back to what I know, doing yoga. I was particularly happy to see an article about not giving up on your goals. This is key to all success in life, including health. I write down my goals and promise myself I’ll achieve them. Not a day goes by when I don’t work toward achieving my goals.

I figured I had time for one more but should I pick bodybuilding or home gyms? I need to gain 8 kg of muscle over the next 15 months and both sections might prove useful. I go for bodybuilding. I’m now convinced I need weight lifting gloves – I sometimes feel that I don’t fully challenge myself because of the pain in my hands.

Anyway, this site has lots of articles – it’s worth a look.
